Another great addition to Tomboy is Tim Kirkby who joins us having just finished shooting with Fallon. Tim's credentials include the cult series Look Around You and a variety of commercials for London's leading agencies. ............ Dominic Brigstocke walked in the Tomboy door, and landed a 13 part series for the internet!!! Starting shooting within the next couple of weeks, Dominic is looking forward to doing something different in the advertising world and with his mix of top tv and commercial credits will do a great job, we believe! We are delighted to announce that multi award winning director Andrea Arnold has joined us. Andrea has won an Oscar for her short film "Wasp' and twice won the prestigious Cannes Jury Prize - in 2006 for "Red Road' and again this year, for soon to be released, "Fish Tank". Fish Tank hits the UK cinemas this week. --------- There is bundles of glamour and glitz in Sandra Goldbacher's RKCR/ Y&R commercial for Strictly Come Dancing, which seems to be on air in virtually every break! Everyone had a great time shooting this and on viewing the final cut we were told that the BBC exec's drummed their feet in excitement! --------- Tomboy Films have just produced the much admired film of Noah and The Whales: FIRST DAYS OF SPRING. Written and directed by Charlie Fink this 40 minute film dramatises the brilliantly received new album of the same name from Noah and the Whale. Contact us if you'd like to see a copy. --------- Director John Crowley has signed with Tomboy Films. John directed the acclaimed feature films 'Boy A' and 'Intermission'. His latest feature 'Is Anybody There?' starring Michael Caine opened recently. -------- Tomboy has made another long form project, a 40 minute film directed and written by Charlie Fink. Charlie is the lead singer and songwriter with the band 'Noah and The Whale'. The film, for Mercury Records, was written along with the album as a companion piece. It will be seen on the festival circuit, including Edinburgh in June. -------- Justin Chadwick has just completed a 60 second commercial celebrating Sainsbury's 140th anniversary. for AMV BBDO. -------- Kirk Jones has just completed a commercial for Boots No.7 for Mother starring Keeley Hawes. -------- Tomboy Films have signed Jonti Pickering, better known as Weebl - http://www.weebls-stuff.com/ . He has just completed a campaign for 118 247. -------- Kirk Jones has just finished work on his new feature 'Everybody's Fine' starring Robert de Niro, Sam Rockwell and Kate Beckinsale. The film was produced by Tomboy's Glynis Murray. It should be out later this year. -------- Kog - Tomboy's digital wing - is going from strength to strength. They have recently completed pieces for Nokia, Ladbrokes Poker and Eurostar. Lead actors in the film, Thomas Turgoose and Piotr Jagiello, jointly won the coveted award for best actor in a narrative feature. The Tribeca jury described their performance as an "extraordinary and exhilarating rendering of a friendship found". -------- Shane Meadow's feature 'Somers Town', produced by Tomboy Films, is nominated for Best Festival Film at The Edinburgh Film Festival. The film has also been chosen to close the South Bank Meltdown Festival. -------- Kirk Jones has just completed prinicapl filming on his self-penned feature 'Everybody's Fine', starring Robert De Niro, Drew Barrymore and Kate Beckinsale. -------- Tomboy Director Shane Meadows won the BAFTA for Best British Film. His film 'This is England' was described as 'One of the most valuable and important British films of the year'. -------- A Mike Figgis short produced by Tomboy for TFL has been launched. The innovative 3 min film has been well received, being reviewed in The Independent and a full page article in Campaign. -------- Tomboy Films is establishing a new digital media division, Kog Industries, headed up by Ollie Allgrove. Best known for his performances in The IT Crowd, he has directed Man to Man with Dean Learner and Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace, as well as promos for The Arctic Monkeys and Super Furry Animals. -------- Ben Miller - One half of writer/performer/collaborator duo ARMSTRONG AND MILLER, Ben has performed extensively on the comedy circuit (including a Perrier nomination) and has recently expanded his repertoire by directing the pilot episode of SAXONDALE, with Steve Coogan, and the short film STARRY NIGHT, starring Miranda Richardson -------- John Carney has been signed to Tomboy. His award-winning movie ONCE, was made on a tiny budget. It is a love story between an Irish street musician and an immigrant Czech girl and became the arthouse smash of the last year. The winner of last year's World Cinema Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival, The Hollywood Reporter raved that ONCE has 'more magical moments in its 88-minute running time than most summer blockbusters can muster in two and a half hours'. And Steven Spielberg told USA Today: 'A little movie called ONCE gave me enough inspiration to last the rest of the year.' -------- Jeremy Jeffs has joined Tomboy. Acclaimed film maker who has travelled the world directing and photographing documentaries in both the most beautiful and most inhospitable locations imaginable. His recent series on India has just finished on BBC2. -------- Martha Fiennes new work for Sheba through AMV is currently on air. Her new feature film Chromophobia, starring Penelope Cruz, Kristin Scott Thomas, Ian Holm and Rhys Ifans was released last month. -------- John Madden has just completed a new campaign for Shell shot in Malaysia and Greece. His new film KILL SHOT, a collaboration with Quentin Tarantino, is due for release this Spring. -------- Tasha and Tanya have directed commercials for Chocomel, The Guardian and a hair care product. Their new reel is now available. -------- Matt Smukler is now working with Tomboy. Starring Victoria Wood, Richard Griffith and Emma Watson, the feature length film was broadcast on Boxing Day. -------- Mike Figgis has just shot a 3 minute film for Transport for London through M&C Saatchi. The film will be shown in London cinemas at the end of January. Also his work for Agent Provocateur is available on his new Tomboy reel. -------- Justin Chadwick’s new movie The Other Boleyn Girl starring Scarlett Johansson is released later this month.
