John has worked extensively both in theatre and television in the UK as well as the US. In the UK he has directed television series including Inspector Morse, Prime Suspect and TV films such as Meat with Johnny Lee Miller and Truth or Dare with John Hannah, Helen Baxendale and Susan Lynch. He has directed several highly aclaimed feature films ‘Mrs Brown’ with Dame Judy Dench and Billy Connolly, the multi Oscar and BAFTA awarded Shakespeare in Love and Captain Corelli’s Mandolin. He's directed commercials for BT in the UK and Coca-Cola in the USA, a pan European campaign for Chevrolet and a Chivas Regal ad for the Asian market.
