Gregory Studied Fine Arts Lighting & Set Design in his native country of New Zealand. He cut his teeth directing plays in the theatre and opera, popular music and documentaries in television.
Gregory then came to London and was a co-founder of the award winning creative cooperative ‘Tomato’. Tomato was the most influential design group in the world during the 1990’s with offices in London, Tokyo and New York.
Tomato won every possible award in advertising and Gregory personally has won twenty awards including gold awards at D&AD, BTAA, Clio and The Creative Circle. ‘Perfect Day’ won numerous awards including Best TV Commercial of The Year and the Marketing Societies Grand Prix for Marketeer of The Year. As well as the commercials Gregory directed and produced through Tomato he also staged art exhibitions, had a pop band ‘Underworld’, published books and created installations for museums. As well as Nike & Sony Gregory’s other clients have included Addidas, Phillips, Comme De Garcons, Channel 4, the BBC and Pepsi.
